Trauma & Stress Management with iChill
Trauma and Stress management app iChill version 2.0 is a useful application for users of android smartphones, tablets and phablets. It is an offer from Trauma Resource Institute.
What can you do with it?
Students can use it to bring their minds into resilient zone from high or low zones due to stress or trauma.
Where to get it?
Version 2.0 of iChill has a size of 25.66 MB and it can be downloaded from Google PlayStore for free.
How to set it?
When you tap on the iChill icon for the first time, the following page is seen.
It asks you if you are willing to provide them your data from using the app. You can refuse if you like or else you tap the Yes button to go to the next page where there are 5 text boxes you have to fill while the 6th is optional.
Both No and Next buttons in the above screenshots take you to the following page called iChill Info.
You can either read or hear the introduction and also about the skills it is going to teach you. At the end, tap on the Back button to go to the main menu of the app.
At the top is the Help Now button. Tapping on it, you come to the tips.
There are 10 tips here for managing excessive stress. The Back button takes you to main menu again and if you tap About iChill, it also shows you the same page that formerly iChill Info page showed.
Tap Back on iChill Info to come to the main menu and tap Resilient Zone – Before button.
In this page, you can set where you are before practicing the skills. Set and then tap Done. It will take you to the main menu.
Now you are ready to tap Skills button and go to the screen where there are 4 buttons for 4 skills.
Tap the first button of Tracking to go to that screen where the first skill of Tracking is introduced and you are told to do certain things to learn the skill.
After you learn tracking, you can tap the Main button to go back to the previous screen of 4 skills or you can tap the Next button to go to the screen called Resourcing.
In this screen, you read and/or hear to learn the skill of finding out your resources of peace and joy and then, to track your sensations inside your body. This brings you back to your resilience zone.
Tap Next to go to learn the skill of grounding in the following screen of the same name. You are asked to find a comfortable place to sit down and notice how it feels at the points of contact. You do tracking again to attain your resilience zone.
After Grounding skill is learnt, tap Next to learn the skill of Shift and Stay.
Here you learn to shift your attention to a place inside that feels either pleasant or at least neutral and stay fixed there. You can also find and stay fixed at a resource, a grounding place, a pleasant gesture etc.
There is no Next button in this screen. So tap the Main button to go to 4 skills and tap Back button at the top left corner again to go to the main menu.
Tap the button Resilient Zone – After.
Now you set where you are after using the skills and tap Done.
The last button in the main menu is Resiliency Images. There are 4. Tap the button to go to the first image of Resilient Zone.
As you swipe left, other 3 images will follow one after another with each swipe.
This app teaches you skills for trauma management and to get back to your resilient zone whenever you are in stress or trauma.
But it also tells you to get professional help for reliability.
